In April of this year Paige Oliver, Trainee HR Co-ordinator at SONE Products, will walk the Great Wall of China for eight hours a day for seven days to raise money for the charity Dementia Care.
To support Paige in reaching her goal of £2,000, SONE is donating £1082.47 raised at its Christmas function. This included money from a raffle and bar donations.
Paige said of the challenge: ‘I've chosen a local charity, Dementia Care, because the cause is close to me and my family's hearts. My lovely Nana was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2011 and has received fantastic support from specialists and carers to help get through these difficult years. However, it has become apparent that not enough people are aware of the impact of Alzheimer's disease and the affect that it has on families all over the world.’
