Assembly Technician

The role includes the following main tasks:

• To undertake handover at the beginning of each shift
• To maintain machines
• To perform machine changeovers
• Undertake regular quality checks
• Effective repair of equipment, tooling, machines and peripherals
• To identify future preventative maintenance requirements
• To identify continuous improvement opportunities
• To undertake some mechanical repairs
• Optimisation of machines and equipment to achieve continuous improvement
• Support production to achieve 5 key data element targets
• General house keeping
• Monitoring and checking work that has been bonded (occasional)
• Informal training for new technicians
• Occasional operator duties

Knowledge and Qualifications

Experience of working with machinery in an engineering/manufacturing environment is essential.

Possess a good understanding of mechanical engineering.

Skills – Technical

• Technical fault finding
• Able to read and understand drawings, measurements and weights
• Ability to use measuring equipment
• Able to complete technical reports
• Able to work to plans
• Able to use machines and tools
