Project Engineer, John Ord, celebrates 35 years’ service with SONE Products this month.
SONE started manufacturing in Stanley in 1981 and John, who started working at the facility in June 1985, is the company’s longest-serving employee.
SONE recognised John’s long service with a certificate and a gift of £10 for every year worked.
John said of the milestone; ‘It’s difficult to believe that it’s 35 years! Though it’s satisfying to think back about my part in making changes happen in the business, what really stands out are the memories of the people I’ve worked with, including those of my beautiful wife who I met on site 28 years ago.’
Raymond Oliver, CEO stated; ‘As a business we are very proud to have so many long-standing employees. It’s not as common these days to stay with one business for so many years; however the experience and knowledge gained is very important for stability. We would like to thank John for showing this loyalty and his efforts for our business.’
