SONE announces an addition to its business development team

Continuing a year of strong recruitment, Stanley based SONE Products Ltd (SONE), has announced a further new arrival within its business development team.

SONE welcomes Duncan Wormald to a newly created position in the role of project engineer. Having spent 26 years in the plastics industry, Duncan brings with him a comprehensive knowledge of polymer materials and continuous improvement procedures. He will be working on the development of materials-related processes that will allow the company to develop into new markets whilst reducing manufacturing costs.

This latest appointment follows on from announcements earlier this year regarding SONE’s ongoing recruitment programme to attract and retain high calibre staff at all levels in support of the company’s strategic development and commitment to its County Durham plant and the local manufacturing sector.

Speaking about his new role, which will see him work with SONE’s design team on a range of products from concept through to manufacture, Duncan said:

“I have acquired many years’ experience devising engineering and project management solutions within the plastics industry and I am looking forward to adding to the depth of resource already in place at SONE. The company has a growing reputation for working with its clients to provide a bespoke design and manufacturing service and I am eager to support that growth.”

SONE’s Chairman and CEO, Raymond Oliver, added:

“While 2012 has been a year not without its challenges, it is very pleasing to announce that we continue to increase our staffing levels to support our development strategy. The company is committed to its workforce and by appointing people like Duncan, who possess the skills to complement those we already have in place, I am confident that with increased orders further jobs will be created in the future.”
