SONE on track for growth in 2013
14th January 2013
Following what was an eventful year for many, with the celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the most successful Olympics and Paralympics Team GB has enjoyed, a north east manufacturer enjoyed a similarly eventful 12 months achieving a number of milestones.

Pursuing a robust strategy for sustainable growth and despite the continuing challenges posed by the economic climate, SONE Products Ltd (SONE) looks ahead to 2013 with confidence but first reflects on some of the milestones it has reached.

Earlier last year, SONE completed the acquisition of an award-winning design consultancy, in a strategic move to increase and enhance its existing capabilities. The introduction of an in-house design function not only allows SONE to provide existing clients with further design and development support, it also increases the manufacturer’s potential to attract new customers.

During the course of 2012 the manufacturer steadily increased its workforce, creating key roles to expand the capacity of its business development and design teams. In addition, the company continued to invest in its established training programme, recruiting two apprentices and undertaking a range of training initiatives for staff at all levels and in all areas of the business, thereby providing long-term career opportunities.

In the autumn, SONE celebrated a significant milestone as the 100 millionth product came off the production line. This figure will be surpassed in a resounding fashion in 2013.

Speaking about the fast pace of SONE’s evolution as an independent manufacturer, Chairman and CEO, Raymond Oliver said:

“Despite the challenges all companies currently face, we have continued to see progress in our business which I believe is due to a combination of factors, including implementing and adhering to a well thought out business growth strategy. Supported by our dedicated and highly motivated workforce, this is bringing tangible benefits.

“SONE enters 2013 with confidence as we continually seek to make improvements in everything we do. This allows us to build on our growing reputation for providing clients - many of whom are global brand leaders - with high levels of service delivery, whilst adopting an innovative approach to assist them with practicable solutions in both product design and manufacture. We remain focused on operating with in-built flexibility so that we can respond swiftly to any demands for our services.”
